Indian Dining For Special Occasions

Our Indian restaurant is a perfect setting for a celebration, with opulent decor showcasing Indian craftsmanship and culture and setting the stage for an authentic Royal Indian dining experience. While you don’t need an excuse to dine at Itihaas, we make a point of providing a high level of service and quality Indian cuisine so that your occasions feel truly special.

Anniversary meals

Celebrate your wedding anniversary with a meal at Itihaas, Birmingham. We offer fine dining, great service and beautiful decor, making this one of the most romantic places to go for anniversary meals Birmingham has to offer. Relive your wedding day with our extensive and extravagant menu with classic indian dishes and North Indian cuisine derived from Moghul Era extravagance, flavoured with fine spices and aromatic essences.

Birthday meals

Throw a birthday party at Itihaas and impress your guests with extravagant, authentic Indian cuisine in a beautiful setting. We cater to table bookings of all sizes, on the restaurant floor or in our private dining suite. Book out the Tiffin Room for a dedicated space, hidden behind 300-year-old, intricately-carved wooden doors, which seats up to 12 guests. With your own private butler and a cocktail bar, this space is perfect for celebrating a birthday to remember.

Best indian dishes for special occasions

Special occasions such as anniversary meals and birthday parties should be celebrated with the more complex and decadent dishes on the Itihaas menu.

For such celebrations, we recommend trying our Masala Champay, with juicy lamb chops cooked over charcoal and drizzled in paprika and lemon chutney to bring out the natural flavour of the meat. Our Prawn Paanch Phoren is a mains dish traditionally enjoyed at Royal celebrations, with freshwater prawns cooked in spiced butter and tomato masala.

For dessert, of course, we insist you indulge in Gulab Jamun. Fried in hot sugar syrup, these sweet-dough dumplings are coated with thick, creamy rabri sauce and topped with a chopped pistachio and cashew garnish.

  • 5 star review  Been here a few times for dinner and lunch and it's consistently good. Service is excellent. Food is just amazing. Tried the street food thali this time and I'm already planning my next visit. Lots of veggy options too which is great.

  • 5 star review  Best curry I have ever had, it was outstanding! Very swish restaurant with a lovely vibe, but we went with our two children as we were staying locally and they were made to feel very welcome too. They made a special mild curry just for the children :) Will definitely be back if we go back to Birmingham!
